Where are you originally from?
Philadelphia! I was born at Jefferson Hospital and my family lived in Northern Liberties until I was 3 (we lived across from the only log cabin in the city - if you don't believe me go to Lawrence & Brown Streets).
How did you get into design? social media management?
My mother was a graduate of PAFA and my dad was a musician in his free-time. I was very lucky to have parents who encouraged creativity and outside thinking. As computers and the internet became household standards, I was messing around with early versions of Adobe Photoshop, creating custom HTML for my AOL Homepage and taking care of my NeoPet. Point being, I was insanely fascinated with technology and the amazing things you could do with it. Fast-forward to high school, college was quickly approaching and I was battling with the decision of dabbling in the arts or focusing on PR & Communications. The arts won me over and I wound up attaining a BFA in Graphic Design from The University of the Arts.
You have a very strong social media presence, how did you develop your social media skills?
This is the truth: I just found it interesting. I liked the fact that Social Media was a way to streamline information. It took the already awesome internet and made it better. The second I heard about Facebook, I was on it. I've been rocking my Twitter account for 3.5 years. The thing that people fail to understand is that in this digital world you NEED to have a digital presence. To me, it's kind of a no brainer. I really believe that if you're not easy to find on the internet, then you're not doing yourself any favors. I also knew from the get go that it was important to brand yourself. I'm very particular about keeping all of my profiles consistent and up to date.
What do you feel are your most recent successes?
Learning to DJ. I'm just proud of myself for even attempting this because it's something I've always dreamed of doing. It's really challenging to learn the techniques and overall mechanics of it but I'm on my way to finally nailing it down. I like to challenge myself.
What do you like most about your current position with At Media?
When our clients need something, I'm their go-to-girl. I love client interaction and making sure that whatever it is they need, I can take care of it. Seeing a happy client means I've done a good job and I think anyone would agree that, that is one of the most satisying feelings.

Where are you originally from?
Jamison, PA. It's in Bucks County, right outside of Doylestown.
You have a Graphic Design degree. What brought you to "Community Management"?
My experience working under the amazing Leah Kauffman at lifestyle blog Phrequency has been my most major influence. Blogging for Phrequency requires all of the contributers to combine our own individual voices with the overall voice of Phrequency. To do that, I had to study the blog content, target audience, and audience responses, which I actually really enjoyed doing. Gaging the audience taught me what our readers liked the most, what they didn't really care for, and what I thought they might like to see next. I like doing research and I'm a very social person so it turned out to be a perfect fit for me.
I also love spotlighting local talent, which is a big part of what Phrequency does. Working as Community Manager for At Media not only allows me to become the voice of multiple companies, but it also allows me to get to know their unique brands, and then project them onto other people so that they see exactly who these talented companies are.
Aside from that, my graphic design background has taught me how to communicate powerful messages to a broad spectrum of people, which is really important in Community Management.
What do you feel are your most recent successes?
Being that Philadelphia is so full of talented people, it can be intimidating to go to social events and network. When I first started off at Phrequency I felt very uncomfortable walking up to people and introducing myself or talking about what I do, but as time went on I started to realize that everyone is in the same boat and the more talented people you meet, the better, because soon you are a part of a whole circle of talented people. It also helps you develop a sense of pride and confidence in what you do, because you have so many people around you who are boosting you up and vice versa. That being said, I would say that one of my most recent successes is entering into the pool of new Philly up and comers.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Hungry for more
Any advice for designers/artists fresh out of college?
Keep evolving yourself. Do things that scare you and say "yes" to things that intimidate you. Every experience is a growing one and the more you restrict and limit yourself, the more you stunt your own growth. Growing is a really important part of life, and whether it be from good or bad experiences, it puts you 10 steps ahead of everyone else who missed out the chance to learn from it.
